Adamawa APC gov candidate Tijani Galadima unveils an agriculture plan focused on processing factories, job creation and improved security
Adamawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Tijani Galadima unveiled his campaign agenda in Yola on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, promising to use agriculture, industrial processing and improved security to drive economic growth if elected governor.

Speaking at a press conference, Galadima said agriculture would be a major pillar of his proposed administration, with plans to establish processing factories that would enable farmers to earn more from their produce.
The Adamawa APC gov candidate argued that farmers currently receive less value for their efforts because processors and other players further along the agricultural value chain often benefit more from their products.
“Our farmers are getting far less for what they are producing; it is those that are processing their farm products that are benefiting from our farmers’ sweat,” Galadima said.
He promised to invest heavily in agriculture to generate more revenue for the state while creating employment opportunities, particularly for young people.
“My administration will invest heavily in agriculture to generate revenue and create job opportunities for our youths and change the fortunes of our people,” he said.
Galadima also identified insecurity as a major challenge to agricultural productivity in Adamawa, saying many farmers were struggling to access their farms.
He promised that addressing insecurity would be an immediate priority under his proposed administration, arguing that improved safety would allow farmers to return fully to their fields and strengthen food production.
“Insecurity has affected the food production in Adamawa State, majority of the farmers are having challenges accessing their farms, but we are going to ensure that we address the issue immediately we took over the mantle of leadership,” he said.
The candidate appealed to voters to trust him with the state’s mandate and pledged to uphold his constitutional responsibilities if elected.
Galadima said his administration would also build on what he described as the solid foundation laid by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
Beyond his economic proposals, the APC candidate called on other contestants to maintain an issue-based campaign ahead of the election.
He urged politicians to avoid name-calling, blackmail and campaigns of calumny, saying voters should be allowed to assess competing programmes and choose their preferred candidate.
“We should focus on what we can do for the state, instead of name calling of other contestants, let us sell our blue print and allow Adamawa people to vote their choice,” he said.
Galadima also pointed to his experience in federal government service as an advantage, arguing that his exposure had prepared him to take on the responsibilities of governing Adamawa.
His campaign agenda places agriculture at the heart of his proposed economic strategy, with processing and value addition presented as tools for increasing farmers’ earnings, creating jobs and expanding the state’s revenue base.

As the political contest gathers momentum, the proposals will now face scrutiny from voters and other political actors as candidates set out their respective visions for Adamawa.
