ADC vows positive rise ahead of 202Skip to Editor Permalink: 7 elections

ADC leaders say the party is set for a positive rise in the 2027 elections, insisting it can win despite having no serving governors.

Bauchi, Nigeria, 24 November 2025 — The African Democratic Congress on Monday declared its confidence in achieving a positive rise in the 2027 general elections, with National Vice Chairman Senator Nazif Gamawa insisting that the absence of any serving governor in the party will not impede its ambitions.

Speaking during an interaction with journalists in Bauchi, Senator Gamawa said the political climate favours a fresh movement capable of challenging the status quo.

Senator Gamawa argued that electoral victory has never depended solely on the number of governors backing a party.

He recalled how former President Muhammadu Buhari once defeated an incumbent without enjoying the support of sitting state leaders, saying the ADC was now positioned to emulate that success.

He described the party as a growing force among Nigerians who were seeking alternatives, asserting that the ADC had become a preferred platform for citizens disenchanted with traditional political structures.

He said the party was determined to give voters what he called one decisive blow against poor governance.

The party chieftain dismissed suggestions of internal challenges, urging politicians who felt betrayed by their current parties to join a movement he said was built on inclusion and fairness.

He emphasised that while other political parties had priced nomination forms beyond the reach of many aspirants, the ADC would ensure affordability to encourage broader participation.

Senator Gamawa, a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, reiterated that he and fellow leaders were committed to repositioning the ADC ahead of the polls.

He gave assurances that the party would prioritise fairness and accountability if entrusted with power.

He encouraged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and take part in the forthcoming elections, stressing that civic participation remains both a right and a duty.

He warned that citizens who fail to vote wisely risk continued hardship under ineffective leadership.

Senator Gamawa added that Nigeria’s politics had been dominated by a small circle of individuals, and he pledged that the ADC would offer mentorship to young people eager to play meaningful roles in governance and national development.
