ADC strategic alliance talks confirmed with PDP, SDP and PRP in Kebbi as party leaders push for integrity-based collaboration ahead of 2027 elections
The ADC strategic alliance talks have commenced in Kebbi State, with the African Democratic Congress confirming engagements with key political parties including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), in what insiders describe as a build-up to future electoral realignments.

Chairman of the ADC in Kebbi, Hon. Engr. Bala Sufiyanu, disclosed this during a press briefing, stating that while talks are ongoing, the party will remain firm on its principles and commitment to integrity.
“Yes, the ADC will enter into an alliance with other political parties in Kebbi State, such as the PDP, PRP, SDP and others. But this collaboration must be properly structured,” Sufiyanu told reporters.
He stressed that clarity and internal cohesion were critical to the success of the talks, insisting that all parties must subject their structures and members to internal assessments.
“We are discussing with coalition leaders, but it won’t work without clear understanding. They must bring in their members for assessment so that the partnership can be productive,” he said.
In a startling revelation, Sufiyanu alleged that the party was offered a substantial sum of money to sabotage its internal strategies and betray the alliance efforts, a move he said was immediately rejected.
“We were offered a huge amount of money to expose our plans and sabotage this movement, but we refused. Even in our dreams, we would never do such a thing. That would be outright betrayal, and we stand firmly against it,” he stated.
The Kebbi State alliance initiative is part of a wider effort within the ADC to consolidate its grassroots strength ahead of the 2027 general elections, with multiple party leaders across Northern Nigeria engaging in negotiations.
In Sokoto State, the ADC’s growing influence has also been confirmed by the party’s chairman, Alhaji Bello Isiaka Keegan, who said that members from other political parties were actively engaging the ADC for defection and strategic participation.
“We are receiving positive feedback from the people, and many are eager to join our movement. We are open to all, but we urge those joining to come in with sincerity and a commitment to work collectively,” Keegan said.
He assured that the ADC in Sokoto remains undeterred by any external threats or political intimidation.
“No one has intimidated us in the state. I’m currently heading to Abuja for a crucial meeting, and I will give further updates when I return,” he added.
Observers say the ADC’s push for credible coalitions in the North may influence future political negotiations at the national level.
With the weakening of dominant party structures and defections looming, new alliances like the one being championed by the ADC may reshape the 2027 electoral terrain.
A senior analyst at the Centre for Democratic Strategy in Abuja, Dr Ahmed Tukur, described the development as “a quiet but significant wave.”
“If the ADC successfully brokers this alliance with the PDP and others, especially in states like Kebbi and Sokoto, it will no longer be viewed as a fringe movement but as a serious third force,” he said.
