Akande-Sadipe Calls for Probe of APC Oluyole Congress Violence

Hon. Akande-Sadipe demands probe of violence at APC Oluyole congress, urging due process, unity, and accountability within the party

In a statement issued by her Media Office on Sunday, Akande-Sadipe clarified that she was not present at the congress and did not authorise, sponsor, or encourage any violent activity before, during, or after the exercise.

The lawmaker dismissed attempts to associate her with thuggery, describing such claims as misleading.

“More so, the individuals who orchestrated and led the thugs are widely known to members of the Party,” she said.

Akande-Sadipe reaffirmed her commitment to peace, internal democracy, and unity within the APC in Oluyole Local Government Area.

She highlighted her long-standing efforts to reconcile aggrieved party members, promote dialogue, and prevent factional crises throughout her political career.

Acknowledging that party congresses can generate heightened emotions, the lawmaker stressed the importance of maturity and due process in resolving disputes rather than resorting to public accusations or media trials.

She welcomed a thorough investigation by relevant security agencies and party authorities.

She called for the review of available evidence, including eyewitness accounts and audiovisual materials, urging party members with credible information to cooperate fully with investigators.

Akande-Sadipe also cautioned against weaponising unverified allegations, warning that such actions could deepen mistrust and destabilise the party.
