APC 100 years in power claim by Yobe chairman sparks reaction as party leader says APC will dominate Nigeria’s political space for decades
Yobe State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammad Gadaka, has declared that the ruling party is positioned to remain in power in Nigeria for up to 100 years, citing what he described as its long term developmental vision and governance record.

The claim was made during the Yobe Leadership and Innovation Summit 2026, organised by the Centre for Leadership and Good Governance in Damaturu, where party officials and stakeholders gathered to review governance strategies and political direction.
Gadaka, speaking through the State Party Youth Leader Muhammad Musa Gulani, said the APC believes its policies and programmes will continue to shape governance across federal, state and local levels for decades.
He stated that the party’s long term ambition is anchored on improving living standards and strengthening national unity, while expressing confidence in its ability to sustain political dominance.
According to him, the APC 100 years in power claim reflects what he described as a strategic vision aimed at consolidating governance structures and expanding policy impact across the country.
Gadaka added that meaningful national development requires continuity in leadership and sustained implementation of government programmes over multiple terms.
He said the party is currently reviewing its progress and refining its communication strategy to ensure measurable outcomes that reflect citizens’ needs and expectations.
The APC chairman further urged Nigerians to maintain confidence in the ruling party, insisting that ongoing economic reforms would eventually deliver broad based benefits to citizens.
