APC governors Lagos meeting underway as Progressive Governors Forum discusses party primaries and national issues ahead of elections
Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) are holding a crucial meeting in Lagos to deliberate on the state of the nation and preparations for upcoming governorship primaries scheduled for next month.

The APC governors Lagos meeting took place on Sunday at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, following an earlier visit to President Bola Tinubu at his Ikoyi residence, where the governors reportedly congratulated him on his recent state visit to the United Kingdom and the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
As of 9:40 pm, only 21 of the 31 APC governors had arrived for the high-level session, underscoring the scale and urgency of the discussions expected to shape the party’s internal political direction.
The APC governors Lagos meeting is being presided over by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who also chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, while Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is hosting the gathering.
Governors present include Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, Bassey Otu of Cross River, Agbu Kefas of Taraba, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara, and Monday Okpebholo of Edo State.
Others in attendance are Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers, Usman Ododo of Kogi, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano, Umaru Bago of Niger, Peter Mbah of Enugu, Nasir Idris of Kebbi, and Douye Diri of Bayelsa.
The meeting is expected to focus heavily on ensuring peaceful and credible governorship primaries, as internal party stakeholders intensify efforts to maintain unity ahead of the elections.

A communiqué is expected to be issued at the conclusion of the session, outlining key resolutions and the party’s strategic direction moving forward.
