Warning of internal crisis in APC ahead of 2027 polls was issued during a broadcast on Arise News’ Morning Show on Monday, where Sambo said the ruling party could face significant dissatisfaction from aggrieved aspirants following the conclusion of its primaries and consensus arrangements.
He stated that disputes arising from ticket allocations, internal party negotiations and alleged breaches of electoral regulations could trigger widespread discontent within the party.
According to him, aspirants who lose out in the primaries may have limited political options due to restrictions in the Electoral Act, which governs post-primary defection rules.
Sambo urged Nigerians to pay close attention to the provisions of the law, warning that some political parties may attempt to operate outside its guidelines during their nomination processes.
He further noted that legal challenges could emerge where parties are found to have violated electoral provisions, stressing the importance of compliance and internal discipline.
