APC Lagos Election Disappointment revealed as Sanwo-Olu admits party unease over 2023 presidential result and calls for PVC mobilisation
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has acknowledged that leaders of the All Progressives Congress All Progressives Congress in Lagos remain unsettled over the outcome of the 2023 presidential election in the state, describing the result recorded by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as disappointing.

The APC Lagos Election Disappointment remark was delivered on Tuesday through Sanwo-Olu’s Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, during a Ramadan lecture organised by the party in Lagos, where members gathered for prayers and early strategic discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing party faithful, Tayo Ayinde urged members to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards, stressing that voter participation would be critical to improving the party’s performance in future elections.
He noted that the outcome of the 2023 presidential election in Lagos should not be repeated, adding that party members must take early mobilisation seriously.
“Don’t let things be like the last time, we all must get our PVCs, because what happened the last time was not good enough, and we are still ashamed of it,” Tayo Ayinde said on behalf of the governor.
The Chief of Staff further emphasised that the party remains focused on correcting past electoral setbacks, insisting that preparation must begin well ahead of the next general election.
According to him, strong participation from party supporters would play a decisive role in determining future outcomes, particularly as political activities begin to build momentum across the country.
The governor also linked the performance of the current federal administration to the party’s electoral strength, suggesting that sustained progress at national level would depend on electoral success in 2027.

Lagos APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, represented at the event by Muyideen Daromola, also called on Muslim faithful to uphold the values of discipline and reflection observed during Ramadan as the party intensifies preparations for the next electoral cycle.
