APC’s NWC meets to consider Osun governorship appeals ahead of December 13 primary, reviewing cases of seven previously disqualified aspirants
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will meet on Monday to consider and ratify the report of the Osun State Screening Appeal Committee, which reviewed the cases of seven governorship aspirants earlier disqualified from participating in the party’s 13 December primary election.

The five-member appeal panel, chaired by Senator Tolu Odebiyi, held two days of hearings with the aspirants and has submitted its findings ahead of formal deliberation by the NWC at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Those appealing their disqualification include former National Secretary Senator Iyiola Omisore; former Deputy Governor Benedict Olugboyega Alabi; Dotun Babayemi; Akin Ogunbiyi; Senator Babajide Omoworare; Kunle Adegoke (SAN); and Babatunde Haketer Oralusi.
Earlier, the screening committee led by Barrister Obinna Uzor had cleared Hon. Mulikat Jimoh and Bola Oyebamiji, citing their compliance with all constitutional and electoral guidelines.
The seven others were referred to the NWC for a final decision.
A member of the appeal panel described the review sessions as constructive, noting that aspirants presented documents and arguments to justify their appeals.
“The exercise was peaceful and conducted in a cordial, family-like atmosphere,” the member said.
The panel’s recommendations will be forwarded to the NWC via the office of the National Organising Secretary for ratification during Monday’s meeting.

Meanwhile, the party has scheduled the delegate congress and corresponding appeals for 9 and 10 December, ahead of the governorship primary slated for 13 December.
