APC Lagos condemns opposition for demanding political immunity, stressing accountability and results ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised the opposition for seeking political immunity instead of accountability as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections.

Spokesman Seye Oladejo made the remarks on Tuesday in Ogba, Lagos, describing the opposition’s actions as “audacious and shameful.”
Oladejo argued that opposition figures, “stripped of ideas, credibility and public trust,” have resorted to demanding protection from scrutiny and consequence rather than defending their records or presenting a coherent alternative vision.
He said their posture reflects fear of public accountability and an unwillingness to confront past failures.
The APC statement highlighted what it called “manufactured victimhood” by the opposition, accusing them of hypocrisy for decrying investigations and probes when these mechanisms were previously praised.
“Any so-called alternative that resembles a return to our vomit will be rejected by a discerning voter that has learned, sometimes painfully, from history,” Oladejo said.
He stressed that the APC-led government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains focused on national renewal, including economic stabilisation, security reform, institutional rebuilding, and sustainable growth.
“While the opposition demands immunity from questions, this administration demands results from itself and accountability from all,” the statement read.
Oladejo concluded that the 2027 elections would be decided on performance, ideas, and capability, not entitlement to protection.

“History is watching. Nigerians are alert. No amount of manufactured outrage will shield failure from judgment,” he said.
