The APC South-West zonal congress will commence at 9:00 a.m., with party leaders urging all accredited delegates to adhere strictly to laid-down guidelines and arrive promptly for the exercise.
In a joint statement issued by South-West Zonal Chairman Isaacs Kekemeke, Zonal Secretary Vincent Bewaji, and Zonal Organising Secretary Lateef Ibirogba, the party described the congress as a key step in strengthening its internal structures and promoting unity across the region.
The leaders noted that the meeting is designed to assess party performance in the South-West, deepen cohesion among stakeholders, and reposition the APC for improved electoral outcomes in upcoming political contests.
They explained that the congress will bring together a wide range of statutory delegates as outlined in Article 12.7 of the party constitution, including zonal executives, former and serving governors, and members of the National Assembly.
Others expected at the APC South-West zonal congress include state party chairmen, NEC members, National Caucus representatives, and principal officers from state Houses of Assembly, both past and present.
Party officials assured that adequate security and logistical arrangements have been concluded in collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure a smooth and orderly process, given the anticipated turnout.
The South-West region, which comprises Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states, remains a strategic stronghold for the ruling party, making the congress a critical political gathering.
