APC Dismisses ADC Claims on Forced Voter Registration

APC rejects ADC claims, affirming mass voter registration is voluntary and part of the Renewed Hope Agenda

Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, has dismissed allegations by the African Democratic Congress that civil servants were coerced into registering for the APC’s electronic membership exercise.

Morka described the claims as “entirely false and baseless,” attributing them to a deliberate disinformation campaign.

Morka highlighted that the ADC had previously circulated a fabricated APC membership slip falsely linking a known terrorist to the party.

He insisted that the mass registration reflected genuine enthusiasm for the APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Millions of Nigerians have registered and continue to register, voluntarily and enthusiastically,” Morka stated, noting that the registration period had been extended from January 31 to February 8, 2026, in response to popular demand.

He accused the ADC of being intimidated by the “phenomenal success” of the e-registration exercise, adding that such intimidation could not justify spreading falsehoods to undermine the party’s efforts.

While asserting that the opposition continues to “fumble and peddle falsehood,” Morka said the APC remained focused on its role as “Africa’s standard-bearer of digital and democratic innovation.”

The party’s e-registration initiative is seen as a significant demonstration of public engagement and support, reinforcing APC’s claims of nationwide enthusiasm for its policies ahead of upcoming elections.
