Atiku Abubakar backs ADC candidate Dr. Moses Paul in AMAC Area Council election, urging Nigerians to reject APC and register to vote
Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria and senior African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, has endorsed Dr. Moses Paul, popularly known as Dr. Mo, for the upcoming Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) election.

Abubakar made the endorsement on Thursday while addressing prospective voters in Wasa, AMAC Area Council, ahead of the polls scheduled for February 21, 2026.
He joined Dr. Paul on the campaign trail, visiting Wasa, Area 1 in Garki, Zone 4, and other locations across the council.
Addressing a crowd of supporters, Abubakar urged Nigerians to vote for the ADC as a means of ousting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“The APC has failed us as a people and if we don’t send them away, they will cause more damage. The campaign to end the sufferings that the APC has brought upon us starts with the election into the FCT Area Councils,” he said.
He further accused the APC government of fraud and forgery, citing alleged manipulation of the electoral amendment process and the gazette of the tax reform law.
The campaign rallies drew large crowds at Garki Area 1 Shopping Complex, Zone 4 Plaza, and other key points, with supporters showing high enthusiasm and solidarity for the ADC candidate.
Abubakar also called on Nigerians to register for party membership and obtain their Personal Voter Cards (PVCs), emphasising that active civic engagement is crucial to achieving meaningful political change.
“I emphasised to voters to ensure that they defy every intimidation and vote for the ADC, and to register for their PVC in order to begin the true change we expect to see,” he added.

The ADC campaign for Dr. Moses Paul highlights the party’s strategy to position itself as the leading opposition to the APC in the Federal Capital Territory ahead of the 2026 local council elections.
