He spoke at the 10th anniversary of Government Girls College, Sakwa, in Zaki LGA.

As a former Head Boy of the institution in its old form as a Teachers’ College, he facilitated its upgrade to a girls’ college under Governor Isah Yuguda.

He stressed that investing in girls’ education uplifts both individuals and communities.

To commemorate the occasion, Jatau donated solar-powered streetlights to improve safety and comfort for students and staff on the school premises.

He said the gift was personal, marking his “homecoming” to a campus that shaped his early years.

He spoke fondly of early morning assemblies under mango trees and credited passionate teachers for laying his foundation. “This college holds a special place in my heart,” he said.

Jatau also praised Governor Bala Mohammed’s education drive. He listed achievements including renovated classrooms, ICT and science kits, streamlined teacher recruitment and training, plus expanded girl‑child education, especially in rural areas.

He reaffirmed that his administration remains committed to repositioning education across Bauchi.

The school’s management presented Jatau with an Award of Excellence. He promised to continue supporting the college’s academic aims.
