The stakeholders made the appeal during a press conference, insisting that zoning the ticket would promote fairness, justice, and political inclusion.
Adio said Badagry had never produced a governor since the creation of Lagos State in 1967, despite its contributions to the state’s development.
He explained that past efforts had not yielded a candidate with enough consensus support, but noted that the emergence of Dr Samuel Ajose had changed that situation.
According to him, Ajose is widely trusted within the division and represents a credible option for the governorship race.
Adio stressed that the appeal was based on equity rather than sentiment, describing it as a peaceful call for inclusion.
Former House of Representatives member, Mrs Rafeequat Onabamiro, also supported the demand, saying Badagry has many qualified professionals capable of governing Lagos State.
She argued that claims suggesting the area lacks competent aspirants were no longer valid.
Another stakeholder, Olanrewaju Saka-Shenayon, a former Lagos State Commissioner, said Ajose has consistently supported APC activities across the state.
He highlighted Ajose’s financial and logistical contributions to party structures and election campaigns in Lagos and beyond.
The stakeholders maintained that Badagry deserves political recognition after decades without producing a governor.

They urged the APC leadership to consider zoning the 2027 governorship ticket to the division in the spirit of fairness and unity.
