Bashir Ahmad predicts Obi Kwankwaso exit from NDC

Bashir Ahmad suggests Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso may leave the NDC if Atiku Abubakar joins ahead of the 2027 elections

Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has suggested that former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso may leave the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ahmad made the comment in a post shared on X on Monday, where he speculated on possible realignments within the opposition bloc.

He claimed that if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar were to join the NDC, both Obi and Kwankwaso might consider exiting the party rather than face a primary contest.

According to him, the two politicians would struggle in a direct party primary against Atiku Abubakar, a situation he believes could trigger further political shifts.

The statement has added to ongoing discussions about possible alliances and tensions among major political figures as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.

However, the claim remains a personal opinion expressed on social media and has not been officially confirmed by any of the politicians mentioned.
