Bolu Fayose has won the APC House of Assembly primary for Irepodun/Ifelodun Constituency II in a landslide victory, defeating incumbent lawmaker Hakeem Jamiu
Bolu Fayose, son of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has recorded a decisive victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly primary election for Irepodun/Ifelodun Constituency II.

He defeated incumbent lawmaker and former Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hakeem Jamiu, in a contest that drew significant political attention across the state.
According to the results, Bolu Fayose secured a total of 4,165 votes across the constituency, while Jamiu polled 372 votes.
In Igbemo Ekiti Ward, Fayose won with 955 votes against Jamiu’s 171 votes.
In Iworoko Ward, he recorded a landslide 1,140 votes, while the incumbent managed just 10 votes.
In Are Ward, Fayose polled 392 votes compared to Jamiu’s 22 votes, while in Awo Ward, he secured 414 votes against 20 votes.
The trend continued in Eyio/Ensore Ward, where Fayose garnered 724 votes, leaving Jamiu with 149 votes.
In Afao Ward, the hometown of former Governor Ayodele Fayose, Bolu Fayose delivered another strong performance, securing 540 votes while Jamiu failed to record any vote.
The result is considered one of the biggest upsets in the ongoing APC primaries in Ekiti State, especially given Jamiu’s position as a ranking member of the House and former Deputy Speaker.

Political observers say the outcome further strengthens the growing influence of the Fayose political family within the APC structure in Ekiti, despite the former governor’s long-standing affiliation with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
