NURTW Boss Sego Endorses KWAM 1 Daughter for Lagos Assembly Seat

NURTW chairman Sego endorses Damilola Ayinde Marshal, daughter of KWAM 1, for Lagos State House of Assembly under APC

The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, has endorsed Damilola Ayinde Marshal, daughter of Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1), for the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Sego made the endorsement in a short video shared on Damilola’s Snapchat handle on Wednesday, where she was seen presenting branded caps to him during a political consultation meeting ahead of the All Progressives Congress primaries.

In the video, the Lagos NURTW chairman urged party members and supporters to rally behind her ambition to represent Surulere Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

“When it is primary election, please come out en masse and vote for Dami, Omo Anifowose. She is the only one who can do it. The progress of our Surulere is our collective responsibility. It is our time,” Sego said.

The endorsement adds momentum to Damilola Ayinde Marshal’s growing political profile within the APC as she seeks to secure the party’s ticket for the constituency seat.

Damilola, a lawyer and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, had earlier declared her intention to contest for the seat through a post on Instagram.

“I am excited to share that I, Barr. Damilola Ayinde Marshal, am stepping forward to serve the good people of Surulere Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly,” she wrote.

She described herself as a results-driven professional prepared for legislative responsibilities, promising to be a strong voice for youths in the state assembly.

“I am a woman of excellence and results. I am ready to serve and lead,” she added.

Damilola also positioned her candidacy as part of a broader push for youth inclusion and development-oriented leadership in Lagos politics.

“As a young woman, I believe this is exactly what my people need right now, and that is why I decided to step forward,” she stated.
