APC Confident Danladi-Salihu Win Boosts 2027 Prospects

APC boosts confidence in Danladi-Salihu 2027 governorship election bid, citing party unity, achievements, and grassroots support in Kwara

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Kwara State, Abdullahi Fagbemi, and APC governorship candidate Danladi-Salihu, who represents Ilesha/Gwanara Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Kwara State, Nigeria, on 5 June 2026, have projected confidence in the party’s chances ahead of the 2027 governorship contest following internal disputes and criticism surrounding the primaries that produced the candidate.

Fagbemi stated that Danladi-Salihu’s legislative experience, including his two-term tenure as Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, demonstrates competence and administrative stability that would appeal to voters across the state.

He added that the APC governorship candidate 2027 emergence reflects continuity and political maturity within the party structure, stressing that governance synergy between arms of government had strengthened under his leadership roles.

According to him, the APC governorship candidate 2027 process should not be undermined by claims of internal division or alleged succession manipulation, insisting that such criticisms fail to reflect the reality of party unity.

Fagbemi dismissed allegations that Danladi-Salihu’s candidacy was linked to a so-called third-term agenda by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, describing the claims as politically motivated and inconsistent with democratic practice.

He argued that the APC remains open and inclusive, noting that former opposition figures had been reintegrated into the party, which he said has strengthened its grassroots presence across Kwara State.

The party chairman maintained that opposition claims of marginalisation within APC structures were unfounded, stating that the ruling party continues to expand its support base ahead of the next general election.

He further expressed confidence in the party’s governance record, citing improvements in infrastructure, healthcare delivery, education, and security across the state as key campaign strengths.

Fagbemi highlighted what he described as widespread functional healthcare coverage across all 193 wards in Kwara State, adding that development projects remain visible in major urban centres.

He also stressed that the APC would rely on its performance in office as the foundation of its campaign strategy, expressing optimism that Danladi-Salihu would secure strong voter support in the 2027 governorship election.
