Dino Melaye ADC Convention Venue dispute escalates as ADC insists its national convention will proceed despite alleged attempts to block access
A member of the African Democratic Congress, African Democratic Congress convention planning committee, Dino Melaye, has insisted that no pressure or interference can stop the party’s national convention, amid a reported dispute over venue access in Abuja on Tuesday.

The ADC had earlier faced uncertainty over its scheduled convention, with reports alleging that access to the venue was being restricted shortly before the event was due to commence.
Dino’s stated that attempts were made to disrupt preparations, including efforts to shut the venue gates and request that organisers vacate the premises.
Dino Melaye explained that the planning committee resisted the move, insisting that the party had a valid and fully executed agreement with the facility’s management, supported by confirmed payment and official receipts.
He maintained that the contract with the venue owners was binding and that all financial obligations had been fulfilled, describing the situation as a test of the party’s resolve rather than a legal or logistical setback.
Dino Melaye further declared that the ADC remains committed to strengthening its political presence and positioning itself as a viable alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress, All Progressives Congress.
According to him, the party leadership remains confident that the convention will proceed as planned, despite what he described as attempts to frustrate the exercise.
