Melaye Says ADC Will Keep Confronting Tinubu Over Nigeria’s Challenges

Dino Melaye Speaks on ADC’s Pressure on Tinubu remarks as ex-senator criticises government over debt, insecurity and governance issues

Speaking at a press conference organised by the National Forum of Legislators within the African Democratic Congress in Abuja, Melaye said the party would persist in its criticism, arguing that the government appears indifferent to worsening insecurity and economic concerns.

Melaye’s Comments on ADC Challenging Tinubu remarks come amid rising political tension ahead of the 2027 elections, with opposition voices increasingly vocal about governance and policy direction.

Melaye also questioned the Federal Government’s borrowing pattern, comparing current figures with those recorded under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He claimed that Nigeria’s debt profile has surged significantly despite the removal of fuel subsidies and called for greater transparency in the use of borrowed funds.

In addition, the former lawmaker raised concerns about the award of a major infrastructure project, alleging that due process was not followed.

He further criticised what he described as inappropriate executive interference in matters before the judiciary, warning that such actions could undermine institutional independence.

Melaye maintained that the ADC would remain a strong opposition force, signalling what he described as a determined and uncompromising stance in holding the government accountable.
