The former Kogi West Senator and current chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) made the statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.

Though Atiku has not officially declared interest in the 2027 presidential election, Melaye said the former Vice President is already assembling credible minds to fix what the APC-led government has broken.

“Atiku is yet to declare his intentions to run,” Melaye said, “but what he is doing is rescuing this country, bringing together men of honour and valour to correct the satanic manifestation of APC in this country.”

Melaye also expressed deep regret for previously supporting the APC to power. “Through the Lord’s Prayer, I confess my sins,” he said. “Once I was blind, now I can see.”

Calling the country’s situation “disastrous and terrible,” Melaye described APC’s leadership as a catastrophic error.

He urged Nigerians and fellow politicians to acknowledge past mistakes and support genuine national reform.
