El-Rufai Denies Running for President in 2027, which was contained in a statement issued on his behalf by his media adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, on Tuesday, following growing speculation over his alleged political intentions.
Reports had circulated that Nasir El-Rufai was preparing a presidential bid in 2027, claims which the former governor firmly rejected, insisting that the comments were unauthorised and misrepresented.
According to the statement, El-Rufai disassociated himself from remarks attributed to an unnamed political associate and stressed that he had not delegated his political communication to any individual.
“Disclaimer. Mallam Nasir El-Rufai wishes to dissociate himself from comments regarding political aspirations which have been attributed to someone described by the media as a political associate,” the statement read.
El-Rufai Presidential Ambition Denial further clarified that the former governor remains committed to issuing his public statements directly or through authorised spokespersons, reinforcing his long-standing approach to political communication.
The statement added that El-Rufai has consistently maintained a direct and personal style of engagement in public discourse and would not allow third parties to speak on his behalf regarding sensitive political matters.
