2027: “One Term Is Enough” — Enahonna Declares Edo Assembly Bid

Charles Enahonna declares 2027 Edo Assembly bid, promising one-term service focused on youth empowerment, roads and development in Igueben

Industrialist Charles Ekholowa Enahonna has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 Edo State House of Assembly election to represent Igueben Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging to serve only one term if elected.

Charles Ekholowa Enahonna made his declaration at the APC Secretariat in Igueben Local Government Area, where he addressed party executives, leaders and members, outlining what he described as a development-driven and people-centred legislative agenda.

The industrialist said his entry into the race is motivated by a desire to transform representation in the constituency through experience drawn from the private sector, stressing that his focus would be on practical governance and impactful legislation.

In a striking commitment, Charles Ekholowa Enahonna vowed that four years would be sufficient to deliver his agenda, insisting that he would not seek re-election after completing a single term in office.

“Igueben constituency deserves the best, and a better representation at the Edo State House of Assembly, which is why I, Charles Ekholowa Enahonna, am seeking election into the Assembly,” he said.

He added, “I am your choice. I know what you want, and I will give you what you want. My vision is to build an environment where young Nigerians can grow, create, and thrive.”

The aspirant emphasised that youth empowerment, women’s welfare and infrastructure development would form the cornerstone of his legislative priorities, describing empowerment of the next generation as a “responsibility, not a promise”.

Charles Ekholowa Enahonna also highlighted collaboration with state and local government structures as essential to achieving development goals, particularly in addressing critical infrastructure gaps across Igueben’s wards.

He pledged the rehabilitation of key road networks, including Udo and Amahor roads, while stressing that effective governance would require synergy between political leadership and grassroots stakeholders.

Speaking further, he argued that his understanding of the constituency’s socio-economic challenges gives him a strategic advantage to deliver what he called “impactful representation”.

“I will not disturb the leaders and the electorate to ask for reelection after one term. Just one term is enough for me to execute all I want to do,” he said.

Party reaction came from Hon. Ephraim Aluebhosele, who described Charles Ekholowa Enahonna as a strong contender ahead of the APC primaries and assured that the party would provide a level playing field for all aspirants.

Aluebhosele, a former Edo State House of Assembly member, urged aspirants to avoid divisive politics, noting that internal democracy would determine the party’s candidate for the 2027 election.
