Mbora, who represented Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency during the 9th Assembly, announced his defection on Thursday in Calabar.
He described the move as necessary, though difficult, given recent developments weakening the PDP’s structure.
“I remain grateful to the PDP for the opportunities it afforded me to serve at the local government, state, and national levels,” Mbora stated.
He also thanked supporters and associates for their loyalty over the years, urging them to participate in ADC’s ongoing registration and revalidation exercises in their wards.
Mbora’s defection adds to a growing trend of political realignments in Cross River State ahead of the next election cycle, following recent switches by former governor Liyel Imoke and former senator Gershom Bassey.

The ADC plans to host a reception rally to welcome Mbora and other new members, consolidating its position in the state ahead of future elections.
