Faleke collects APC nomination forms Tinubu 2027 as presidential bid begins ahead of elections scheduled by INEC for early 2027
James Faleke, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, on Tuesday, 29 April 2026, in Abuja, collected the All Progressives Congress, APC, Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, formally setting in motion preparations for the president’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general election.

APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, announced the commencement of the process at the party secretariat, where the forms were presented to Faleke, a key ally of the president and founder of the Tinubu Support Groups.
Faleke’s action, which included the payment of N100 million for the nomination documents, is widely regarded as a clear political signal that President Tinubu will seek another term in office.
The development comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, continues to outline its timetable for the 2027 general elections, setting the presidential and National Assembly polls for Saturday, 16 January 2027.
According to the electoral body, governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will follow on Saturday, 6 February 2027.
INEC has also fixed the timeline for party primaries and resolution of disputes between 23 April and 30 May 2026, while campaigns for presidential and National Assembly elections are expected to begin on 19 August 2026. Campaigns for governorship and state assembly elections will commence on 9 September 2026.
