According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications, Lere Olayinka, the grace period runs from Tuesday, November 11 to November 25, 2025. Property owners who fail to comply within this timeframe will face enforcement action from the FCT Administration.
“The Minister has granted defaulters of the land-use/purpose clause of properties a final 14-day period to comply with terms and conditions of land-use change and conversion,” Olayinka said.
This directive follows a September 3, 2025, approval by Wike of a N5 million fine for allottees and land title holders who violated the Land Use Act. The approval also included a 7.5% charge on the assessed capital value of properties converted without FCT Administration permission.
The affected properties are located on key streets in Maitama, Asokoro, Wuse II, and Garki I and II, including Gana Street, Usuma Street, Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Aminu Kano Crescent, Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Ladoke Akintola Boulevard, and more.
Owners who regularise their land use within the grace period will receive new title documents reflecting the updated use and a renewed 99-year term.

However, this does not apply to land titles already withdrawn or revoked for non-development, non-payment of ground rent, or other infractions.
