Rufai Oseni Warns Tinubu Over Fubara Impeachment

Rufai Oseni urges President Tinubu to intervene in Fubara impeachment, calling it a test of the president’s capacity to protect APC governors

Rufai Oseni has urged President Bola Tinubu to prevent the planned impeachment of Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State, describing it as a serious test of the president’s ability to protect governors under the All Progressives Congress.

Oseni, in a Facebook post, described the potential removal of Fubara as “a big indictment on President Tinubu’s ability to protect APC governors,” noting that the state of emergency previously declared in Rivers State failed to halt the impeachment process.

The television host said the development indicates that opposition forces, led by former Governor Nyesom Wike, currently hold significant sway in the state’s political affairs, and questioned whether the president would intervene to support Fubara.

Oseni posed a series of critical questions regarding the unfolding situation: whether the Chief Judge would proceed with the impeachment, whether any court orders would hold, and if Wike might collaborate with opposition forces against the APC.
