Gboyega Nasir Isiaka made the announcement on Thursday during an appearance on the Frontline current affairs programme on Eagle 102.5 FM in Ijebu-Ode.

The three-time governorship candidate said his aspiration would follow due process and internal democracy within his party.

“Yes, I am interested in the governorship. However, this is only the beginning of a process, and it must be approached with patience, discipline, and respect for the structures of the party,” Gboyega Nasir Isiaka said.

Gboyega Nasir Isiaka stressed that any ambition must align with established party structures and collective judgment.

“For me, this is about responsibility, order, and service. I will abide fully by the rules of the party and allow the process to take its proper course,” Gboyega Nasir Isiaka added.

The Gboyega Isiaka Ogun 2027 bid marks a significant step in the state’s early political positioning ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Gboyega Nasir Isiaka said his decision was shaped by years of legislative engagement and grassroots interaction, particularly in border communities across Ogun State.

Despite the declaration, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka noted that his immediate focus remains on legislative duties at the National Assembly, including tackling youth unemployment, expanding access to education, and addressing economic hardship.

Gboyega Nasir Isiaka added that governance should be measured by its impact on citizens’ daily lives, from national policies to local development outcomes.
