Ikechukwu Urges PDP to Deflate Egos Ahead of 2027

Prof. Okey Ikechukwu urges PDP members to set aside egos, unite, and focus on 2027 election mobilization

Speaking on Arise Television, Ikechukwu addressed ongoing internal wranglings in the PDP, particularly following the recent Court of Appeal ruling that dismissed the Taminu Turaki-led faction.

He emphasised that party members do not have time for political games if they aim to compete as Nigeria’s strongest opposition. He highlighted three key areas the PDP must focus on:

  • Commitment to participate as a united opposition capable of displacing the ruling APC.
  • Selecting and supporting credible candidates with structured campaigns.
  • Mobilising voters through efforts such as e-registration to ensure strong participation.

Ikechukwu also endorsed former Senate President Bukola Saraki’s call for reconciliation within the party, urging members to resolve disputes quickly and focus on preparation for the elections.
