Isaac Fayose Reaffirms Peter Obi Support After Meeting Tinubu Allies

Isaac Fayose reaffirms Peter Obi support, saying friendships with Tinubu allies do not affect his political loyalty ahead of the 2027 election

Popular Nigerian social commentator Isaac Fayose has reaffirmed his support for Peter Obi’s presidential ambition ahead of the 2027 general election, saying his personal relationships with supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu do not affect his political position.

Fayose made the clarification on Thursday after revealing that he spent time with Seyi Tinubu, businessman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, and other personalities during a gathering on Wednesday night.

The social commentator said his meeting with individuals associated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) should not be interpreted as a change in his political allegiance.

Fayose, who describes himself as an “Obidient” supporter, said he remains committed to Peter Obi despite maintaining friendships across political lines.

“Yes, I spent quality time with Seyi Tinubu, Cubana Chief Priest, Tosin, Prince and others last night after my interview with Arise News,” Fayose wrote in a Facebook post.

He explained that Seyi Tinubu accompanied him to his car after their meeting, where they shared a moment of prayer.

“Seyi walked me to my car and we decided to pray together. We prayed for Mr President and we prayed for ourselves,” he said.

Fayose added that political disagreements should not prevent Nigerians from maintaining respectful relationships with people who hold different views.

“I love Tinubu; there is no hate in my DNA, and they accept my decision to vote and campaign for my own candidate, Peter Obi, and we still remain family,” he wrote.

The commentator also stressed that political participation should not be defined by hostility, saying Nigerians can maintain friendships while supporting different candidates.

“We do politics without hate. I am still 100% Obidient,” Fayose stated.

The remarks come as political alignments and public endorsements continue to attract attention ahead of the 2027 elections, with supporters of major political figures increasingly engaging in debates over loyalty, alliances and campaign strategies.

Peter Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party platform, remains a prominent opposition figure, while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues to lead the APC administration.

Fayose’s comments highlight a growing conversation around political tolerance and whether personal relationships can exist alongside competing political choices in Nigeria’s increasingly active electoral environment.
