Kenneth Okonkwo predicts Tinubu’s defeat in 2027, saying Atiku Abubakar has a clear path to victory and alleging rigging would be needed for APC to win
Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesperson for African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election, insisting that the path is clear for the opposition candidate to emerge victorious.

Okonkwo made the assertion during an interview with Symfoni TV on Monday, August 10, 2026, while assessing the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general election.
The former Nollywood actor-turned-politician said Tinubu would no longer remain in office after the election, expressing confidence that Atiku would defeat the incumbent.
“After the 2027 election, Tinubu will be gone. The path is clear for Atiku to win the election,” Okonkwo said.
He also launched a strong criticism of the Tinubu administration, describing it as the worst government in Nigeria’s history.
Okonkwo further alleged that Tinubu would struggle to win states in the 2027 election without electoral malpractice, although he did not provide evidence to substantiate the claim.
“When we campaigned for the 2023 general elections, we had no governor. We had nothing, and Tinubu did not win more states than us,” he said.
“Now that he is the worst President Nigeria has ever had, do you think he will win any state without rigging? Tinubu will not win any state. So the path to victory is very clear. And by the grace of God, we will win.”
Okonkwo’s comments come as political activity intensifies ahead of the 2027 presidential contest, with Atiku and other opposition figures seeking to challenge Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
The ADC has positioned itself as part of the emerging opposition platform, with Atiku expected to play a prominent role in the party’s campaign as political alignments continue to take shape.
Tinubu, meanwhile, has supporters within the All Progressives Congress and the wider political establishment who are campaigning for his re-election.
The 2027 contest is expected to be closely watched as opposition parties seek to consolidate their support and challenge the ruling APC across the country.
