Lagos APC new executives sworn in, charged to strengthen grassroots networks and unify party ahead of upcoming elections
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has inaugurated newly elected executives across ward and local government structures, urging them to deepen the party’s grassroots influence.

The ceremony took place on Friday, 6 March 2026, in Ikeja, Lagos State, under the supervision of APC State Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi.
Addressing the new officials, Ojelabi emphasised dedication, loyalty, and unity as key responsibilities, warning against actions that could create divisions within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He described the swearing-in as a milestone in consolidating the APC’s internal structure and preparing for future electoral engagements.
“We found you worthy to be elected to pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years. Your role is critical to the growth and consolidation of the party,” Ojelabi said.
He highlighted that the APC’s sustained dominance in Lagos politics is built on a strong grassroots network, urging the new executives to preserve and strengthen this foundation in their respective areas.
The chairman further stressed that the officials must work collectively, avoid conduct that undermines internal harmony, and collaborate closely with local government leadership.
“Work starts immediately. Let the leadership in your local government know you have been sworn in, and work together to strengthen the party’s structure,” he added.

Ojelabi assured the executives of the support of both the party leadership and the Lagos State government, emphasising inclusive participation and the importance of effective ward- and local-level leadership to sustaining the APC’s political strength.
