Sanusi Accuses Lagos APC Chairman of Bias in Ojokoro List

Sanusi accuses Lagos APC chairman of bias over the Ojokoro supervisory councillors list and calls for its withdrawal

Mobolaji Sanusi, former Managing Director of the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency, has accused Cornelius Ojelabi, Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, of bias in the management of party affairs in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area in Lagos State.

Mobolaji Sanusi raised the allegation in a letter dated March 4, 2026, in which the former agency head criticised the recently released list of supervisory councillors for Ojokoro LCDA and urged the party leadership to withdraw it.

The letter described the list as non inclusive and inconsistent with assurances previously given by the state leadership of the ruling party.

Mobolaji Sanusi, while congratulating Cornelius Ojelabi on his re election as Lagos APC chairman, said the handling of party matters in Ojokoro under the chairman’s leadership had been disappointing and damaging to confidence among party stakeholders.

The former LASAA chief argued that the names announced for the supervisory councillors in Ojokoro did not reflect the fairness and balance that had earlier been promised by the state leadership of the party.

According to Mobolaji Sanusi, the list appeared one sided and reinforced perceptions among party members that the leadership might be favouring a particular political bloc within the local chapter of the party.

Mobolaji Sanusi urged the Lagos APC chairman to withdraw the list and make adjustments that would reflect broader representation across the various interests within the party structure in Ojokoro.

The former LASAA managing director also said the development contradicted earlier commitments made by Cornelius Ojelabi following the controversial local government primaries conducted last year.

Mobolaji Sanusi stated that the APC chairman had assured aggrieved stakeholders at the time that the party would accommodate their interests to maintain unity within the organisation.

He further claimed that he had won the APC chairmanship primaries in Ojokoro but was eventually denied the party’s ticket, adding that he accepted the outcome in the interest of peace and party stability.

However, Mobolaji Sanusi said the publication of the supervisory councillors list had revived concerns among members that the state leadership was not maintaining a balanced approach in its decisions.

The former LASAA boss also criticised the handling of a petition submitted by party members in Ojokoro during the recent APC congress, alleging that the state leadership dismissed the complaint on the grounds that it was statute barred.

He further alleged that the list used during the congress included individuals who had already served two or three terms in ward or local government executive positions, a situation he said contradicts the internal rules of the party.

Mobolaji Sanusi urged the Lagos APC leadership to urgently review the list and replace it with one that reflects the interests of a wider group of stakeholders.

The former official argued that such a step would help rebuild trust among members and prevent further divisions within the Ojokoro structure of the All Progressives Congress.
