Mustapha Sule Lamido screening outcome was confirmed after the exercise, with the aspirant, popularly known as Santurakin Dutse, using the occasion to advocate stronger inclusion of young people in Nigeria’s political and leadership structure.
Lamido stated that many developed nations have made significant progress by actively engaging younger generations in governance, stressing that Nigeria must follow a similar path to achieve sustainable development.
He noted that the Nigerian political landscape is gradually evolving, adding that young people possess the vision, energy, and confidence required to drive meaningful national transformation.
The PDP governorship hopeful also criticised the increasing wave of defections among politicians, attributing the trend to what he described as weak ideological commitment and lack of conviction among some political actors.
Lamido expressed confidence in youth-driven leadership, stating that the younger generation is increasingly prepared to provide purposeful governance if given the opportunity.
He also referenced his performance in the 2023 general elections, where he claimed to have secured nearly 400,000 votes across Jigawa State, describing it as evidence of growing public support.
According to him, his ambition is rooted in popular demand from citizens who desire a generational shift in leadership and governance priorities within the state.
