The campaign activities began on Sunday with roadside receptions in communities across Okene and other parts of the district, before culminating in a gathering at the senator’s residence in Obeiba, Ihima, in Okehi Local Government Area.

Akpoti-Uduaghan’s media aide, Mike Idoko, disclosed the development in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.

The engagements attracted party members, community leaders, political stakeholders and supporters. PDP candidates seeking seats in the National Assembly and Kogi State House of Assembly also joined the campaign.

The senator was accompanied by her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, and other political associates.

During the engagements, she reaffirmed her commitment to quality representation, constituency development and legislative advocacy.

Akpoti-Uduaghan said her relationship with the people of Kogi Central extended beyond election periods, describing their support as a major motivation for her continued public service.

“My relationship with the people of Kogi Central goes beyond elections. These are my people, my family and the very reason I remain committed to public service,” she said.

She expressed gratitude to residents who turned out for the campaign activities, saying their support reflected a relationship built over time rather than one driven solely by the approaching election.

The senator also pledged to intensify efforts to attract infrastructure projects, economic opportunities and other development initiatives to Kogi Central, with particular attention to the Ajaokuta area.

She argued that effective representation should involve more than holding public office, stressing the importance of regular engagement with constituents, responsiveness to their concerns and purposeful legislative interventions.

Among those who participated were PDP candidates contesting House of Representatives seats in Adavi/Okehi, Ajaokuta and Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituencies, alongside the party’s candidates for various Kogi State House of Assembly constituencies in the district.

Their participation provided an opportunity for party members and candidates to strengthen cooperation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Idoko, thousands of supporters gathered at the senator’s residence in Ihima, with many remaining there late into the night.

Kogi Central Senatorial District comprises five local government areas: Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, Okene and Ogori-Magongo.
