NDC support group registration is free, with the party warning state officials against collecting fees or registering support groups outside its Abuja directorate
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned state chairmen and other party officials against collecting money from support groups, stressing on Friday, September 25, 2026, that NDC support group registration is free and can only be handled by the party’s Directorate of Support Groups at its national headquarters in Abuja.

The warning was contained in a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, as the NDC continues to organise its support structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party said no registration fee was required from support groups and directed interested organisations to deal directly with the Directorate of Support Groups in Abuja.
“All State Chapters of the party are hereby directed to be properly guided and to comply strictly with this directive,” Director said.
He stressed that state chapters and individual party officials were not authorised to register support groups or collect payments for the process.
The NDC said any official found violating the directive would face disciplinary action under the provisions of the party’s constitution.
The clarification comes as political parties continue to expand their grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 elections, with support groups playing an increasingly visible role in political mobilisation and public engagement.
The party also acknowledged the contribution of support organisations, including the Obidient Movement and Kwankwasiya Movement, describing them as important partners in its political activities.
Director said the NDC would continue to provide an enabling environment for such groups to operate and contribute to the party’s activities at different levels.

The party’s latest directive is intended to centralise the registration process and prevent unauthorised individuals or state chapters from presenting themselves as officials responsible for registering support groups.
