This marks the third such meeting by the Turaki-led faction within a week, aimed at bridging differences with the Abdulrahman Mohamed-led caretaker committee, which is backed by Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
During a previous meeting on Wednesday, Turaki indicated that the faction remains open to reconciliation, citing positive signs that the two camps could reach a truce.
The Wike-backed caretaker committee also confirmed its willingness to engage, provided the scheduled national convention on March 29 and 30 proceeds as planned.
Present at the ongoing meeting are Turaki, Wabara, former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, former Kano State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, and former Information Minister Professor Jerry Gana.
Party sources say discussions are focused on unity, convention planning, and resolving long-standing disagreements between the factions.
Political analysts note that these talks are critical for the PDP’s cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections, with both sides signalling a readiness to prioritise party interests over individual positions.

The outcome of the meeting is expected to shape the party’s strategy and public messaging in the coming weeks, reinforcing the importance of internal dialogue in resolving factional disputes.
