The announcement followed the 105th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Monday, February 2, in Abuja.
The Acting National Chairman of the faction, Abdulrahman Mohammed, and Acting National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, issued a communique applauding the Federal High Court in Ibadan for validating the faction’s existence.
The statement reaffirmed their commitment to the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law as pillars of democracy in Nigeria.
The NEC reaffirmed the resolutions of the 104th emergency meeting held on December 7, 2025, noting that all actions taken under those resolutions remain lawful, binding, and in strict compliance with the PDP Constitution, the Nigerian Constitution, and the Electoral Act.
“The NEC welcomed and affirmed the judgment of the Federal High Court, which upheld the legality of the party’s leadership and directed INEC to recognise the duly constituted National Caretaker Committee of the PDP,” the communique stated.
The NEC further confirmed the tenure extension of the National Caretaker Working Committee and other affected State and Zonal Caretaker Committees until the national, state, and zonal congresses are held.
The committee was also mandated to activate convention sub-committees and begin all logistical, administrative, and consultative preparations to ensure a transparent and credible convention.
The party leadership urged members at all levels to remain united, disciplined, and loyal, placing the collective interest of the party above personal considerations.
