Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi has said there will be “no fake promises” to Nigerians as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.

Obi made the statement on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in a post on his verified X account, following his visit to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, and a town hall meeting with residents in Sokoto.
The former Anambra State governor said the engagement provided an opportunity to listen to citizens, respond to their questions and explain the Nigeria he and his running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, intend to build.
