Seyi Makinde PDP presidential form decision questioned by Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, who discusses party strategy and merger claims

Babajide Kolade-Otitoju linked the decision to broader political calculations within the PDP and raised questions about the governor’s long-term presidential ambition.
Seyi Makinde PDP presidential form discussion formed part of a wider commentary on party dynamics and alleged merger talks involving opposition figures.
Kolade-Otitoju also referenced Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, noting that both politicians did not pick presidential forms under the Taminu Turaki-led PDP structure.
He dismissed ongoing speculation about party mergers, arguing that no political merger can be valid without the involvement and approval of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
“Forget all the noise about the merger, you can’t do a merger without the regulator, INEC,” he said.
The media personality further argued that previous merger efforts, such as the formation of the All Progressives Congress in 2013, followed a different political process and structure from what is currently being discussed.
He suggested that individuals cannot simply declare a merger after losing internal political contests, describing such claims as politically unrealistic.
