Tinubu Mourns Aminu Dantata During Condolence Visit to Kano State

Tinubu mourns Aminu Dantata in Kano, paying respects to the late elder statesman and urging unity as Nigerians honour his enduring legacy of philanthropy

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Kano State on Friday to condole with the government and people of the state over the passing of elder statesman and business icon, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.

The visit also includes a personal tribute to the Dantata family, marking a moment of national mourning and unity.

The visit was announced by the spokesperson to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Sunusi Bature Tofa, who described the President’s presence as a gesture of deep respect for the legacy of the late philanthropist.

“The planned visit by the President is a significant act of national reflection and respect,” said Tofa.

“It reflects both the nation’s recognition of the towering figure that Alhaji Dantata was, and the President’s commitment to unity.”

The late Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a revered industrialist and philanthropist, passed away recently, drawing tributes from across Nigeria and beyond.

He was widely respected for his contributions to commerce, education, and religious causes, as well as his steadfast commitment to national development.

Governor Abba Yusuf has urged Kano residents to receive the President warmly, in line with the state’s enduring tradition of hospitality, dignity, and honour towards visiting dignitaries.

“This is a moment of solemn reflection and national respect,” the Governor stated.

“I urge all Kano residents to receive the President warmly and in an orderly manner, as he joins us in mourning one of our greatest elder statesmen.”

To ensure a smooth and respectful visit, security and logistics have been coordinated by state authorities.

Key routes have been cleared, and public safety agencies are on standby.

The condolence visit also serves to strengthen federal-state relations and project unity at a time of collective grief.
