Imansuagbon Urges Nigerians to Reject Tinubu’s Reelection Bid

Tinubu reelection rejection 2027 urged by Ken Imansuagbon as ADC chieftain calls on Nigerians to mobilise against a second term bid

Ken Imansuagbon, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Sunday, March 30, 2026, called on Nigerians in Ewohimi, Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo State, to reject the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election, urging early mobilisation against what he described as continued rule under the current administration.

Speaking during a gathering where he received defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Imansuagbon emphasised that the Tinubu reelection rejection 2027 effort, as he framed it, should begin immediately if citizens intend to effect political change at the ballot box. He argued that Nigerians must actively organise and position themselves ahead of the polls.

The former Labour Party governorship aspirant in the 2024 Edo State election described the current political climate as one requiring decisive civic engagement, insisting that failure to act could have far reaching consequences for the country’s socio economic and political development.

His remarks reflected a broader push within opposition circles to consolidate support ahead of the next general election.

Imansuagbon also extended his comments to Edo State politics, urging voters to resist any attempt by Governor Monday Okpebholo to secure a second term, stating that the will of the people should remain paramount over political influence or intimidation.

In his remarks, Imansuagbon characterised the influx of new members into the ADC as a “tsunami”, suggesting growing confidence in the party as an alternative platform for Nigerians seeking change.

He maintained that political strength should not be measured solely by control of political offices but by grassroots support.

Also speaking at the event, former Edo State Governor and ADC National Legal Adviser, Professor Oserhimen Osunbor, commended both new and existing party members for their commitment to strengthening the party’s structure.

He dismissed assumptions that dominance by the ruling All Progressives Congress would automatically translate into electoral victory.

Osunbor further cautioned that internal political dynamics and the provisions of the Electoral Act could significantly influence outcomes in future elections, stressing that voter sentiment would ultimately determine the direction of the polls.
