Umahi Endorses Tinubu Second Term Bid in Strong Support

Works Minister David Umahi has endorsed President Tinubu’s second-term bid, describing it as a push for continuity and national development

Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, has formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition after signing what he described as a “victory form” for the 2027 presidential election.

The endorsement was disclosed in a statement issued by Umahi’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nwaze, who said the move reflects confidence in the administration’s ongoing reform and development agenda.

David Umahi described the signing as a defining moment in Nigeria’s political journey, stressing that continuity in leadership remains critical for sustaining national progress.

The minister praised President Tinubu’s performance, particularly in infrastructure delivery, noting that ongoing road construction and rehabilitation projects are central to economic growth and national transformation.

Umahi further stated that the administration’s development drive is already yielding visible results, adding that sustained implementation would deepen impact across key sectors of the economy.

He called for continued public support for President Tinubu, arguing that stable leadership is essential for long-term planning and successful execution of national priorities.

The endorsement follows earlier political activity, including the collection of the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms on behalf of the President by lawmaker James Faleke, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency.

The forms, valued at N100 million, officially mark the beginning of President Tinubu’s campaign for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027, while governorship and state assembly polls are set for February 6, 2027.
