The development was announced by Dada Olusegun, Special Adviser to the President on Social Media, via a post on X.
The visit seeks to strengthen Nigeria-Türkiye relations and expand collaboration in security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation.
The trip also reciprocates the state visit to Nigeria by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in October 2021.
A video accompanying Olusegun’s post showed President Tinubu at the airport, accompanied by top government officials, including Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the visit in a statement on Sunday, noting that Nigeria and Türkiye would engage in strategic political and diplomatic discussions.
The talks are expected to focus on shared interests in finance, communication, trade, and investment.
“The visit is aimed at strengthening the existing cordial relations between the two countries and exploring further areas of cooperation in security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation,” Onanuga stated.
