UBA Business Series to Spotlight Women Leaders at ‘Gen W – The Evolved Woman’ Event

United Bank for Africa will host a special UBA Business Series themed “Gen W – The Evolved Woman” to empower modern African women in leadership and business

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc is set to host a special edition of its quarterly UBA Business Series, focused on celebrating and empowering the modern African woman.

The event, themed “Gen W – The Evolved Woman,” will take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at UBA House in Lagos.

According to the organisers, the session will bring together accomplished female leaders and professionals to share insights, experiences and practical strategies for navigating ambition, leadership and growth in today’s fast-changing environment.

The event will feature several influential women across business, media and entrepreneurship, including:

  •  Joycee Awosika – Founder of ORÍKÌ Group
  •  Tomike Adeoye – Media personality and entrepreneur
  •  Olufunke Davies – Founder of Fine Funky
  •  Ayo Mario‑Ese – Award-winning broadcaster

The conversation will be hosted by media personality and actor Tobi Bakre.

During the session, panelists will share their personal journeys and perspectives on building resilient businesses, embracing authenticity, and redefining leadership as women in a rapidly evolving global environment.

Speaking ahead of the event, UBA’s Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, said the initiative reflects the bank’s strong commitment to supporting women and recognising their role in driving economic growth and innovation across Africa.

“The modern African woman is evolving in remarkable ways. She is bold, visionary, and intentional about the spaces she occupies. Through this edition of the UBA Business Series, we want to celebrate women while creating a platform for meaningful conversations around leadership, ambition and opportunity,” she said.

The UBA Business Series has grown into a key platform for knowledge sharing, designed to equip entrepreneurs, professionals and business leaders with insights, tools and strategies needed to build sustainable businesses and navigate today’s evolving business landscape.

The event will also be streamed live across UBA’s digital platforms, allowing participants to join either physically or virtually.
