Wike Eagle Square access controversy arose after claims suggested that a political party was blocked from using the venue, an assertion the minister described as inaccurate and misleading.

Speaking during an inspection of ongoing infrastructure projects in the capital, Nyesom Wike questioned the basis of the allegations, stating that he was not aware of any such denial and that no official request had been presented.

He explained that access to Eagle Square is governed by established administrative procedures, which require formal application through the Abuja Investments Company Limited, alongside payment of applicable fees.

According to him, compliance with due process is non-negotiable, noting that both the ruling All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party have previously used government facilities by following the proper channels.

The minister also clarified that the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome falls under the jurisdiction of the Sports Commission, not the Federal Capital Territory Administration, further emphasising the importance of proper administrative oversight.

Wike disputes Eagle Square access claims comes amid heightened political sensitivities in the capital, but the minister maintained that no group is denied access as long as laid-down procedures are followed.
