Yilwatda made the remarks during a media chat on Wednesday night, stressing that APC membership is voluntary and not subject to compulsion.
The APC chairman said the party maintains an open-door policy, allowing individuals to join at their own discretion.
He stated that the party does not force political actors to align with its platform, noting that participation is based on personal choice.
According to him, there is no requirement for individuals to join the APC before being appointed into government positions.
Yilwatda also pointed out that several officials who had previously criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are currently serving in his administration.
He said this reflects what he described as the President’s inclusive leadership style, where even past critics are accommodated.
The APC chairman added that appointments are based on competence and national service rather than party affiliation.
He further emphasised that political tolerance remains a key feature of the current administration.
