Nyesom Wike dismisses PDP-APM alliance claim as “political fraud”, insisting no coalition exists ahead of the 2027 elections
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed reports of an alleged alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party and the Allied Peoples Movement, describing the claim as “political 419”.

Wike made the remarks on Thursday during an inspection of ongoing road projects in Gomani-Yangoje, Kwali Area Council of Abuja, where he accused Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde of misleading Nigerians over the existence of such a coalition.
He insisted that no official alliance exists between both parties and stressed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is not aware of any such arrangement.
According to him, both the PDP and INEC have no record of a PDP–APM agreement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike argued that ongoing internal activities within the PDP, including aspirant screenings, clearly show that the party is still operating independently.
He said the narrative of a coalition was false and politically motivated, adding that no submission of such an alliance would be recognised by electoral authorities.
The FCT Minister further claimed that Makinde’s political moves were tied to personal ambitions, suggesting that the alleged alliance narrative was part of a wider strategy within party politics.
He also referenced comments about internal political disputes, maintaining that such matters should remain within party structures and not be misrepresented publicly.
Wike maintained that attention should be focused on governance and ongoing infrastructure projects rather than what he described as fabricated political stories.
