Rivers ex-LGA chairman Samuel Nwanosike praises FCT Minister Wike for backing Tinubu, saying state benefits politically and voters favour 2027 re-election
Former Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Samuel Nwanosike, has praised Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike for taking a “political risk” by supporting President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections, saying Rivers State is now reaping the benefits.

In a recent interview with journalists, Nwanosike highlighted that the president has fulfilled several campaign promises to Rivers since assuming office in May 2023, including the approval of key appointments for indigenes of the state.
“There is no other way to say thank you to a man who has done so much for Rivers State,” Nwanosike said, adding that Wike’s decision demonstrated foresight and political courage.
He further asserted that in the 2027 elections, Rivers voters will prioritise Tinubu’s leadership over party affiliation.
“Even before Tinubu spent up to three years in office, he had fulfilled parts of the promises he made to Rivers people. In 2027, we are not doing political parties; we are all voting for President Tinubu,” Nwanosike declared.

The comments underscore the perceived strategic advantage Rivers State believes it gained through Wike’s cross-party support during the previous election cycle.
